Scarborough Athletic have bolstered their midfield options with the loan signing of Caine Winfarrah from Grimsby Town on an initial one-month deal.
The Seadogs are currently fourth in the Evo Stik Division One North and the acquisition of Winfarrah has strengthened their squad for one final promotion push.
Winfarrah said: “I’m very excited and pleased of course just to be playing games and to be actually playing for someone in a position of fighting for promotion.
“It’s nice to be at another club where everybody is confident in winning and will turning up every week expecting to win.
“This is my third loan spell so it’s nice to be getting more first team football.”
The 19 year-old made his debut for Grimsby in 2013, aged 17 against Woking, and made four appearances in the Conference Premier during the 2013/2014 season.
During his first season with the Mariners he spent time on loan with Conference North side Gainsborough Trinity, scoring five goals in 11 games, and subsequently being recalled after impressing Grimsby manager Paul Hurst.
He has been limited to just two games in the Vanarama Conference this season, and has joined the Seadogs to gain some vital first-team experience.
Winfarrah could make his debut tomorrow against Lancaster City at Queensgate.
Joe Lamplaugh has left Scarborough and joined Rudy Funk at AFC Mansfield.
The Toolstation NCEL Division One promotion-chasers have also recruited Chris Wood and Grant Allott, who both left Ossett Town earlier this week.
