Ossett Town finished the 2-1 defeat to Farsley AFC with Rowan Binns in goal after Brad Dixon was forced off injured in the Evo Stik Division One North local derby.

It was another blow for Ossett, who have had to cope with several player departures in the last ten days.

Ossett put up a brave fight and their former goalkeeper Tom Taylor, now Farsley’s number one, had to deny Joe Brennan midway through the first half.

Play-offs chasing Farsley went in front after Andy Welsh’s cross was headed into the net by Aiden Savory.

Ossett hit back on the stroke of half-time with Darol Lucas firing a superb 30-yard attempt past Taylor.

Neither side created many chances until the turning point. Dixon went down injured after a collision and received treatment, but felt he could continue.

Farsley literally went back down the field from Taylor’s long punt was taken down by substitute Priestley and the Gibraltar striker finished past a stricken Dixon.

The former Leeds United youngster was then replaced and Binns, who is a striker with the club’s under 19s, even made a save from a Lewis Nightingale free kick in the closing stages.
