Maltby Main staged a dramatic comeback to win 2-1 at Staveley Miners Welfare – with their talisman Brian Cusworth netting the decisive goal in the last minute.
The vital victory moves Maltby further away from the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division drop-zone.
Staveley, who had new signing Lee Whittington making his debut, took a 16th minute lead.
Maltby’s Garry Hibbert was caught in possession and Kurtis Morley’s shot across the face of goal found the bottom corner.
Staveley deserved to be in front it was not until the introduction of Neil Spruse that the game started to change shape.
A sweetly-struck volley from Spruse brought Maltby level with 12 minutes to go.
New Maltby goalkeeper Luke Herriott needed to make a wonderful save before the winner arrived in stoppage time.
Reece Wesley supplied the assist and the reliable Cusworth found the top corner to put a big smile on Mick Norbury’s face.
