Joel Ramm’s late goal denied Mick Norbury’s Maltby Main their third consecutive victory in the 1-1 draw with Pickering Town in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.

Maltby were seeking a third win in eight days following last week’s victory over Staveley and then the superb Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup success over Athersley in midweek.

And they got off to a great start with their talisman Brian Cusworth heading home a superbly floated cross from Nicky Darker.

Luke Norbury came close to doubling the lead before Pickering hit back in the second half.

Reece Wesley had to make one goal-saving interception as Pickering piled on the pressure.

Pickering equalised in the 70th minute with Ramm being in the right place at the right time – firing through Luke Herriott’s legs to score.

Maltby nearly won the game late on, but Luke Norbury’s goal was ruled out.
