Retford United boosted their own chances of survival and plunged Liversedge into deeper relegation trouble with a 2-0 win away from home.
It was Rich Williams’ first win as Retford boss since the crisis at the club over four weeks ago.
Alan Colquhoun’s ‘Sedge have lost six straight Toolstation NCEL Premier Division games and last won on the 3rd January.
With the situation unclear on whether the FA will insist on two clubs being relegated because of Wakefield’s demise last summer, Liversedge are currently in danger.
“Sedge are only five points above second-bottom Retford and only two in front of resurgent of Nostell Miners Welfare, who capable of beating anybody.
New look Retford got off to a great start with Adam Lee scoring with a wind-assisted strike after just four minutes.
Liversedge did have plenty of chances. Former Glasshoughton striker Kieron Corley hit the post with a shot before Liam Wilkin added Retford’s second goal.
Sam Dobbs made a good save at the start of the second half and he was the supplier to a further Corley chance which was tipped over Retford goalkeeper Matthew Leese.
Corley then had another strike turned away. It was a frustrating afternoon for Colquhoun’s men as Eli Hey had one effort saved and then saw a header come back off the crossbar.
