Tadcaster Albion stopped a run of three straight defeats in the 1-1 draw at Pickering Town.
Tadcaster still have a chance of winning the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title, but the task has become harder after Worksop’s victory over Shaw Lane Aquaforce.
Pete Lawrie had to keep Tadcaster in the game with some excellent saves during the first half.
Pickering’s Billy Logan was also guilty of missing a sitter when clean through on goal.
Logan made up for the miss by scoring an excellent volley from Lewis Taylor’s pass early in the second half.
Tadcaster hit back and Tom Claisse equalised with a deflected effort with 20 minutes remaining.
Tadcaster Albion manager Paul Marshall:
“We didn’t deserve to win.
“Pickering missed chance after chance in the first half and Pete Lawrie kept us in the game with some outstanding saves.
“I can’t fault their effort because I thought they all worked hard, especially in the second half.”
