Craig Elliott praised Liversedge after their shock 1-0 win at Shaw Lane Aquaforce earlier this week.
Elliott and Aquaforce were stunned by a ‘Sedge team that hadn’t won for eleven Toolstation NCEL Premier Division games.
Elliott said: “It was a low moment and probably the lowest since I have been the manager here.
“Saturday (the 3-0 defeat to Worksop) was pretty bad. I don’t think we were too bad on Tuesday as I thought we played particularly well in the first half.
“We missed four or five good chances and obviously hit the crossbar.
“Their goal was a mistake and it was their only shot on target.
“Then in the second half, pressure kicks in and we never found our rhythm,
“Credit to Liversedge. They defended really well in numbers and counter attacked really well.
“It was a fair result. As an away team playing away, I thought their tactics were brilliant in the second half.”
Aquaforce face a tough test at form team Heanor Town tomorrow as they look to revive their title hopes.
The priority for Elliott and Shaw Lane is to get back to the form that got them to the FA Vase quarter-finals and to a high league position.
He said: “We still have some difficult games and others do as well.
“It isn’t just the fact we have lost the last two games, it is the manner we have lost them.
“We haven’t played well. We had scored in every game this season and then in the last two games we haven’t scored.
“Sometimes there is a good way to lose matches, but we have lost the last two in a bad way.
“We have played the first halves with eleven men and then in the second halves we have had people sent off which has may it almost impossible to get back into it.
“We play the form team tomorrow, but it has been a very disappointing week.”
James Cotterill, Shane Kelsey and Joe Thornton, who have been the players who have been sent off in the last two games, start their suspensions next week.
Elliott has yet to decide how to replace the trio.
