Farsley AFC’s Evo Stik Division One North play-offs hopes look over after a 1-0 defeat to Lancaster City at Throstle Nest.
Few chances were created by either side in difficult conditions at the Nest.
Farsley had the first chance of the game when Andy Welsh put Lewis Nightingale’s free-kick wide from close range.
Lancaster then had an opportunity when Ryan Winder had a shot brilliantly blocked by Spencer Harris.
Shortly after Lancaster took the lead against the run of play when Ryan Serrant’s attempted interception ballooned over his own ‘keeper Tom Taylor and into the net.
Farsley then had a chance to equalise when Welsh played through Aiden Savory who fired over.
Lancaster almost doubled their lead early on in the second half when Taylor brilliantly tipped Ryan Winder’s effort wide.
With time running out Andy Welsh was put through on goal but could only fire wide as Lancaster held on for a deserved win.
