The message remains the same as it has all season at Pontefract Collieries.
That’s the view of joint manager Duncan Bray, whose side top the Toolstation NCEL Division One table with just six games remaining.
It is the best ever chance that Pontefract have had in their search to return to the Premier Division since 2000 when Steve Kittrick was their manager.
No-one is getting carried away and Bray said: “We just need to keep going.
“We have to keep doing the things we have doing well since Christmas and not change how we play.
“We have to keep the good work rate going. When we work hard we show that we are a good side.
“We have stayed level-headed because every-time we have put in a mediocre performance, we have got punished.
“That has kept them on their toes because even against Grimsby a couple of weeks ago we were 2-1 down and they’ve only won once or twice all season.
“Luckily we put that right in the season, but it goes to show in this league that if are below-par, you’re going to get beat.”
Pontefract face a huge test at Hallam tomorrow night. Ryan Hindley’s men will be determined to end a run of six straight defeats against a Pontefract side which will have a few bodies missing.
Liam Radford serves his final game of his two-match suspension from his controversial red card against Shirebrook Town.
Bray confirmed that he and Nick Handley may look to recruit new faces for the trip to Hallam to cope with the injury doubts of Luke Danville, Phil Lindley, Mark Whitehouse, Aaron Joseph and Lee Bennett.
Bray added: “I think it is going to go down to either the last game or the last two games of the season when you put in Hemsworth and Clipstone’s games in hand.
“I don’t think Hallam away is any easier. Hallam can beat anyone at home. They beat Clipstone earlier in the season.
“It is going to be difficult, that’s for sure. We have a really depleted squad as we have another lost two from Saturday on top of the ones we lost at Worsbrough last week.”
