Craig Elliott has finally sorted the goalkeeping problem out at Shaw Lane Aquaforce with the signing of Ian Deakin

Shaw Lane Aquaforce have swooped to sign Ian Deakin from Heanor Town on deadline day to solve their goalkeeping problems.

Deakin has been regarded as one of the best stoppers in Toolstation NCEL Premier Division this season.

Aquaforce have had issues between the sticks since Ben Gathercole was ironically stretched off at Heanor almost two weeks ago.

Dual-registered stopper Brett Souter was drafted back for one game last week, but he cannot play on a weekend due to his position as first choice goalkeeper at Ossett Albion.

Neil Bennett, also from Albion, played in the goal at Retford United in Saturday.

Deakin is likely to make his debut in the Barnsley derby with Athersley Recreation tomorrow night.

He will then face his old side on Saturday in one of the Easter ground-hop games.

In other transfer news, John Tunney has signed for Armthorpe Welfare, Josh Odukomaya has moved to AFC Emley.

Jimmy Walker has signed for Hemsworth from Retford United.
