Stocksbridge Park Steels are probably safe after the 2-2 draw in the Evo Stik Division One South local derby with Sheffield FC.
Struggling Rainworth Miners Welfare would have to win all their final three games and hope the Steels lose all their remaining five matches.
Stocksbridge had to come from behind initially as a looping header from Ian Ross deceived goalkeeper Sam Andrew.
A route one play helped Stocksbridge pull level. Steels captain Ryan Laight’s long punt left the Sheffield defence struggling to catch Brad Grayson and the striker lobbed the on-rushing goalkeeper to score.
Mark Stirrup’s header put Stocksbridge in front on the stroke of half-time.
A penalty awarded by referee David Benton pulled Sheffield level after Laight was deemed to have handled. Ian Roney converted the spot kick.
