Hall Road Rangers said goodbye to Dene Park with a 3-0 defeat to Bottesford Town.

Over 60 years of history came to an end yesterday in the Toolstation NCEL Division One encounter.

Hall Road are moving to Haworth Park in the summer, pending the installation of floodlights, and they had hoped to end the Dene Park chapter on a high.

They were holding their own for a large part of the game until the final 20 minutes when Bottesford’s Sam Baker stole the show.

Baker rattled home a 20 minute hat-trick to earn Bottesford the three points.

Hall Road Rangers manager Martin Thacker:

“Considering that was our last game at Dene Park I’d have expected a better performance from everyone.

“We were in the game till a big error in the second half at 0 0 and then the game got away from us.”

“The Best team won. If we keep making individual errors week in week out we will always end up with nothing and that’s what we deserved today, nothing.

“We’ve had some great times at Dene park that won’t be forgotten but it’s time to move on and create a different chapter in Hall Road’s history.

“Thanks to everyone who has worked so hard all season to keep the club running and sorry we couldn’t end an era on a win. We go again”
