Brighouse Town made Shaun Reid eat his words by holding Warrington Town to a goal-less draw.
Brighouse went unbeaten in four Evo Stik Division One North games and even ended Warrington’s faint play-offs hopes.
This was a day after Reid said his team should be winning at places like Brighouse.
Following on from Monday’s brilliant win at Farsley AFC, Jacob Giles was the star man for Brighouse – recording his third clean sheet in four games.
The goalkeeper several good saves – most notably from Louis Corrigan – in a game which was heavily affected by the wind.
Brighouse travel to New Mills on Monday night.
Brighouse Town manager Paul Quinn:
“It was a difficult afternoon for both sides as the conditions made it awkward to get any flow in the play.
“It’s pleasing we could secure another clean sheet, we came under some pressure second half and we showed excellent resilience.
“We are determined to finish the season with as many points as possible and that is being reflected in the players’ performances.”
