Harrogate Railway conceded a late equaliser, but effectively ended Mossley’s hopes of reaching the Evo Stik Division One North play-offs following the 2-2 draw.

Malachi Farquharson fired Railway ahead seven minutes before half-time after Adam Baker played him in.

Harry Coates then saw a thunderous effort come back off-the-post.

Railway tmissed a penalty at the start of the second half. Baker was hauled down by Ryan Barrow and took the spot kick himself. However, former Stocksbridge Park Steels stopper Liam Flynn dived to his left and saved the attempt.

Mossley, spurred on by Flynn’s save, took advantage of a mistake by Railway goalkeeper Tom Goodwin to level the game.

Goodwin lost the ball by the corner flag to Rio Ahmadi. The Mossley player passed to Kyle McGonigle, who fired the ball into the empty net from 35 yards.

Railway responded with former Tadcaster striker Vincent Dhesi scoring at the second attempt.

Mossley needed substitute Tom Pratt to intervene and earn them a point with five minutes left.
