Ian Dring and Martin Barnfield will take charge of Maltby Main’s final two Toolstation NCEL Premier Division games after Mick Norbury resigned.
Norbury tendered his resignation on Wednesday night 24 hours after the 4-1 defeat at Glasshoughton Welfare.
To his credit, Norbury has kept Maltby in the Premier Division this season – emulating last season’s same achievement with limited resources.
A statement said: “Mick Norbury tendered his resignation on Wednesday evening after a short meeting with chairman Wilf Race.
“Mick has worked tirelessly over the last 2 years and delivered every goal which he was set. He kept the club in the Premier Division on a zero budget which is a truly remarkable feat.
“The club sincerely wish Mick every success in football.
“The club have put Ian Dring and Martin Barnfield in charge for the remaining two games. Once the season draws to a close Maltby will assess and advertise the position.”
Maltby host Cleethorpes Town tomorrow under former Selby boss Dring and Barnfield.”
