Shaw Lane Aquaforce can move two points away from the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title if they beat Nostell Miners Welfare.
That’s providing Tadcaster Albion win at Cleethorpes Town though. If Tadcaster drop points then a win tomorrow and a draw in their final two games will be sufficient for Shaw Lane to book their place in the Evo Stik.
Craig Elliott said: “It is in our hands with three games to go.
“Any manager will tell you that is what you want.
“I’m not looking at other results, I let other teams do that.
“We’re playing well. We’re nine or ten games unbeaten so we’re on a good run.
“We have been getting clean sheets as the defence has been superb in the last few weeks.
“We went back to basics after the Liversedge defeat by being hard to beat and it has worked.”
Aquaforce have 87 points – three more than Worksop, who only have two games left.
Shaw Lane maintained their lead on Worksop by beating Albion Sports with a late goal from Shane Kelsey.
Elliott added: “We missed a lot of chances in the first half and that happened at Barton.
“I thinking that those chances we missed would come back to haunt us, but we kept going and that’s what you have to do at this late stage of the season.
“It could be an important match and I said in the team talk that I saw it as a defining match in terms of sending out a signal to the rest of the league.
“We still have to do it though.”
Lee Morris is back from suspension for Shaw Lane, while Grant Darley returns from holiday.
