Newcastle Town showed Stocksbridge Park Steels what is required for a tilt at the Evo Stik Division One South play-offs.

Stocksbridge lost 3-1 in their final game of the Division One South season at Bracken Moor.

Chris Hilton has steered Stocksbridge through a difficult campaign after building a brand new team.

The future bodes well, but it has been a tough first year in charge for Hilton.

The first half of their final game was far from a spectacle, but the game sparked into life in the second half.

Josh Gordon fired Newcastle ahead before Tim Sanders doubled the lead.

Rory Coleman dragged the Steels back into the game, but Jordan Cole put the game out of the hosts’ reach with the third goal.

Stocksbridge Park Steels: Andrew, Lever, Coleman, Haigh, Cardwell, McFadyen, Biggins, Stirrup, Garside, Grayson, Heh. Subs: Thompson, Critchlow, Laight, Scully, Wilson.
