Brad Dixon bowed out after Ossett Town’s 5-0 defeat to Evo Stik Division One North champions Salford City.
The young goalkeeper has been a shining light for Ossett in a disappointing season with performances which have kept his side in games.
Dixon is moving to play in America in the summer and leaves with the club’s best wishes.
He was powerless along with his team-mates to stop Salford as they marched to a heavy victory in front of a huge crowd – helped massively by the lure of free admission and the chance to see Salford lift the title.
Ossett found themselves 4-0 down at half-time – Jason Jarrett (2), Phillip Dean and Gareth Seddon scored.
Fortunately Ossett were not as destructive in the second half as Dean was the only scorer.
