Paul Marshall is back in football – as the manager of Pickering Town.
Marshall was recently relieved of his duties at Tadcaster Albion after seven years in charge and he replaces Tony Hackworth at the North Yorkshire club.
Marshall, who also had two stints as chairman, is credited as one of the main people behind Tadcaster’s rise. Tadcaster were struggling at the bottom of the Toolstation NCEL Division One table when he arrived at the club.
In his final season, he guided them to the FA Vase quarter-finals and to third place in the Premier Division.
He was offered a role as a director by the club’s owners I2i Sports, but he has chosen to return to management instead.
Marshall said: “I am delighted to become the manager of Pickering Town.
“It is a well run club with good people working very hard behind the scenes which will enable me to fully concentrate on the football side. I am looking forward to meeting the existing and past players.”
