Scarborough Athletic are returning home after the Weaponness Leisure Village scheme was passed by the local council.
It means that Evo Stik Division One North side Scarborough will return to the town within the next few years which will be more than ten years since the collapse of the old club.
The reformed fans club have been playing at Bridlington Town’s Queensgate ground since they started in 2007.
The new site will have a 2,000 capacity stadium alongside the Leisure Village which includes a 25m swimming pool, sports hall, gym, squash courts.
Scarborough chairman Dave Holland said: “This is great news for our long-suffering fans.
“Scarborough finally has a community football club again.”
The Weaponness Valley Community Group, which opposed the plans, could still seek a judicial review.
The Department for Communities and Local Government will announce their decision on the Leisure Village in the next 21 days.
