Toolstation Northern Counties East League teams have voted in proposals to introduce play-offs into Division One.
The proposal needed to be backed by a two-thirds majority and there were only seven dissenting voices.
It means the teams finishing between third and sixth in Division One will compete in an end of season play-off.
There will also be a third relegation spot in the Premier Division.
