Nostell Miners Welfare captain Dave Bordman is their new assistant manager

Dave Bordman is the new assistant manager to Paul Lines at Nostell Miners Welfare.

Bordman, brother of Rob, won two main awards at the club’s recent presentation night after playing a key role in Nostell’s survival battle in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.

The midfielder will now take an even bigger role as Nostell aim to go onto bigger and better things.

The club have taken a big step towards their aim of creating ‘Development Centre’ at Crofton.

They have announced that they will be running an U16s Development Group team which is aimed at developing players for professional and semi-professional football.

Players will be taking part in a football education programme – taking in aspects such as diet and nutrition.

The team will not be entering a league as it will arrange fixtures against academy sides from pro-club, Elite Development Centres (EDC’s), County Teams and semi-professional clubs.
