Conway the hat trick hero for Maltby

Maltby Main beat GB Deaf 4-0.

Maltby Main beat GB Deaf 4-0.

New Maltby Main player Dean Conway introduced himself to the supporters at Muglet Lane by scoring a hat-trick in their 4-0 win over the GB Deaf team.

Maltby’s second pre-season fixture opened with a minute’s silence for the late Brian Bradley and his wife Judith.

Within the first three minutes of the game Lee Jordan ran through on goal and clipped the outside of the post worrying the GB goalkeeper.

After 25 minutes Conway, previously a Joker player, grabbed the first goal of the game beating the goalkeeper on his inside post.

The goal seemed to give Maltby confidence on the ball.

After 39 minutes Conway grabbed his second of the game firing in from ten yards.

Two minutes later and the referee pointed to the spot and it was a penalty to the main, Conway stepped up and claimed his hat-tick to put Maltby 3-0 up at half time.

To start the second half both teams mixed the teams up allowing some of the back up brigade a chance on the centre stage.

Seven minutes after the break Josh Hemming got himself clear on the left wing, he swung a cross in finding Ben Thornton and his glancing header found the corner of the net and made it 4-0.
