Popular defender Glenn Wood is back with Toolstation NCEL Division One side Yorkshire Amateur this season.

The local lad played for the Ammers during the 2013-14 campaign before briefly turning out for Garforth Town last season.

Wood, who also plays for vastly-successful Leeds Sunday League outfit Halton Moor, made his Bracken Edge return in the 6-0 defeat to Bradford (Park Avenue) on Saturday.

Wood featured alongside a number of hopeful trialists. The list included former AFC Emley striker Sylbert Stewart.

Ammers joint manager Rick Addy said: “A decision will probably be made on the trialists at the end of July, probably around the 28th.

“We will have make some phone calls to say ‘sorry but you haven’t made the team’, but what we will say to those who haven’t made it, ‘do you want to play in our reserves’?”
