Tadcaster Albion beat Oldham Athletic under 18s 4-1 to secure Billy Miller’s first win in charge of the club.

After testing games against FC Halifax Town and Leeds United U21s, the Oldham team presented a different challenge for Tadcaster – one they comfortably came through.

Liam Ormsby broke the deadlock for Tadcaster from the penalty spot after being brought down.

Soon the lead was doubled. Jimmy Beadle appeared to have forced the ball home from Josh Barrett’s cross, but it stayed out. Eventually the ball ended up in the air and George Conway was able to head home.

Two more goals in quick succession – starting in the 75th minute – completed the rout.

An error by the Oldham goalkeeper gave Danny Gray a simple tap-in before David Brown went through and scored.

Oldham pulled a goal back through Rio Murray.

Tadcaster Albion: Lawrie, Armstrong, Claisse, Milne, Stimpson, Ormsby, Barrett, Beadle, Ward, Rose, Conway. Subs: Brown, Murphy, Thornton, Baker, Gray.
