Tadcaster Albion and Farsley Celtic served up a goal-less draw at the i2i Sports Stadium last night.

Both sides had chances in the latter stages to win the pre-season friendly that took a long time to really spring into life.

The teams cancelled each out for a large majority of the match.

The first half contained very few notable moments. Tadcaster winger Adam Baker was forced off after nine minutes because of a facial injury was one standout moment.

Arguably Liam Ormsby’s free kick which was easily caught by Farsley goalkeeper Jake Lofthouse was the only real chance of the half.

The ante was upped at the start of the second half. George Conway should have fired Tadcaster ahead after a defensive mistake from Farsley.

The former Shaw Lane Aquaforce winger had beaten his defender when he put the ball wide of the post from close range, with only the goalkeeper to beat.

At the other end, Jahsai Donaldson missed a good opportunity in front of goal.

A load of substitutions sparked more into the game as Farsley went close when home defender George Bissett cleared the ball off-the-line.

Aiden Savory then nearly caught Tadcaster goalkeeper Gary Stevens out with a lob that only just dropped wide of the post.

The crowd almost got their wish of a goal right at the death after Mitch Hamilton caused mayhem in the Farsley penalty area. Fortunately for Farsley, their defenders were able to hook the ball away from danger.
