Promising young winger Kane Reece is a new addition at Pontefract Collieries following last night’s 1-0 win at Penistone Church.
Matty Marsden’s first half goal earned Pontefract the victory in Barnsley and after the game, Reece and two other players signed forms to play in Pontefract’s first season back in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division since 1999.
Reece has earned some rave reviews for his displays in the last two seasons when playing for Shaw Lane Aquaforce, Worsbrough Bridge and Ossett Albion.
New Pontefract joint boss Russ Eagle has used his knowledge of Handsworth Parramore to bring defender Connor Chappell to Beechnut Lane.
Chappell was a regular in Handsworth’s Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior League team last season.
The final signing was Marc Lumb, most recently a Chesterfield academy player.
