Tadcaster Albion will only bring further new faces into the club if the right players comes along, according to Billy Miller.

The Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title hopefuls have retained nearly all of last season’s team, whilst adding only a handful of new faces.

Gary Stevens, George Conway, Adam Baker, Joe Thornton, Jimmy Beadle, Jordan Armstrong and former Leeds United defender Matt Heath are the new additions to the i2i Sports Stadium.

Miller told Non League Yorkshire: “I think the squad is complete.

“We are always on the lookout at this level for the next player, but any player coming in now would have to be as good or better than what we have got.

“There is no point in bringing in like-for-like.

“I think we have a good squad here at the club. We have brought some really good players in and the new signings have fitted in well.

“We have phenomenal camaraderie in the dressing room at the moment.

“We’re trying to build that good ethos that I’ve had with me at my last two clubs.”

Tadcaster are next in action on Saturday against Scarborough Athletic – five days after the goal-less draw with Farsley Celtic.

The clash with Farsley had few memorable moments, but Miller took many positives.

“I thought we had two really chances and both lads who them chances have come off and said they should have scored.

“Across the course of the game and I said this to the lads, it was really evenly matched.

“There were times when Farsley had glimpses of how good they are going to be this year.

“To be able to take some credibility out of tonight’s fixture is good for us.

“It is about fitness and matching because if we are going to do well in the league, we need to be able to play at the next level up.

“You look at the teams who have won the league in the last four or five years, they have all gone onto do well in the league above.”
