Bridlington Town have signed former Scarborough Athletic striker Lewis Clarkson following his unsuccessful trial at North Ferriby.
Gary Allanson confirmed the capture this afternoon – just four days before Bridlington kick off the new Toolstation NCEL Premier Division season at Staveley Miners Welfare.
Clarkson has had a difficult 12 months having seen an injury-hit spell with Bradford City come to an end early this year.
He then signed for Tadcaster, but failed to hit the high notes that he previously struck with Scarborough.
In his defence, he was still coming back from a serious hamstring injury and his 90 minute display for Bridlington against Scarborough on Saturday was his first full game in over a year.
Allanson has described the signing as “a great coup for the club”.
