Pontefract Collieries and Goole AFC played out a bore goal-less draw at Beechnut Lane last night.

Goole still have ten days to go until the Evo Stik Division One South season begins, but Pontefract clocked up vital mileage ahead of the big kick off on Saturday.

The Collieries make their Toolstation NCEL Premier Division return after 16 years in exile with a home game with Armthorpe Welfare.

Chances were few and far between during the match. Only Aaron Moxam’s long range attempt which was well dealt with by new Goole goalkeeper Thomas Beaurepaire was the only moment of note during the first half.

Little happened after the interval and the game fizzled out.
