Yorkshire Amateur joint manager Rick Addy believes his side are capable of reaching the Toolstation NCEL Division One play-offs.

Ammers kick off the campaign with the visit of much-fancied Hull United to Bracken Edge.

The Leeds-based side were another surprise package last season and Addy expects his team to build on the achievements of 2015.

He said: “Top six is definitely the aim.

“We finished tenth last season and I think that bringing people like Danny Hull in will only improve so why not?

“I keep up by reading Non League Yorkshire and all teams seemed to have improved.

“If we do the right things, we think we have the team to do what we want which is top six.

“We need players with the right attitude, players who will travel to Teversal on a Tuesday night

“I believe we have them.”

The 2015-16 season is the third since the arrival of joint manager Phil Harding and chairman Lincoln Richards to Bracken Edge.

The pair have saved the Ammers from extinction and have slowly spearheaded a renovation of the ground – from refurbishment of the social club to the appointment of a new groundsman.

More is to follow and Addy said: “Off-the-pitch we are trying to get a 3G surface put down and also put some new dugouts in place.

“Getting the 3G done would be brilliant as we would no longer have to go off-site to train.

“We could give it to the junior sections to train on it and we can hire out it to make money.

“The ground improvements are happening all the time and we have had the pitch done.

“The club is more prepared for a season on and off-the-field then it has ever has been before.”
