Tadcaster Albion manager Billy Miller admits that there are great expectations at his club

Promotion is wanted at Tadcaster Albion this season, but that is far from guaranteed admits Billy Miller.

There is a buzz around Tadcaster as Miller prepares to lead Tadcaster into a competitive match for the first time since replacing Paul Marshall in May

Maltby Main are the visitors to Tadcaster for the opening day of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division season after a pre-season campaign that was watched by hundreds of people.

That has created huge expectancy levels at the club, but Miller is confident of handling them.

Miller said: “I think the fanbase is second to none for this level of football.

“In the friendlies we had over 1800 people watching so there is lots of excitement around the club.

“It is a phenomenal set-up and it makes it a great day out for anyone who comes to the club.

“It’s my job to manage expectations and for me it is about making sure people don’t get too carried away.

“It doesn’t matter what league you play in, you have to earn the right to play.

“There are a lot of good teams in this league and we have to make sure we got off to a good start.

“The first game of the season is always difficult, but I believe we’re ready to go.”
