Shaw Lane Aquaforce left it until the last half hour to secure a 3-0 victory over Romulus.

The Evo Stik Division One South new-boys and Toolstation NCEL Premier Division champions have made an excellent start to the new season.

Aquaforce have now won two and drawn the other of their opening three games.

Romulus made them work for their win yesterday. Henry Eze had a header cleared off-the-line and Joel Grandison missed a glorious one-on-one chance,

Shaw Lane heeded the warnings and captain Rhys Meynell got them quacking with a header for the opening goal.

Stef Holt, back from injury, then headed home at the back-post as Shaw Lane took the game out of Romulus’ reach.

Jimmy Eyles, another player who has not featured for few weeks, completed a fine victory for Craig Elliott’s men.
