Shaw Lane Aquaforce lost for the first time this season last night after a late comeback earned Lincoln United a 3-2 victory.
Ten-man Aquaforce were leading until two goals in the final eight minutes saw a win turned into a defeat in the Evo Stik Division One South.
Craig Elliott’s men had fallen behind in the early stages as Jack McGovern scored from a goal-line scramble.
Lee Bennett broke away and equalised on the stroke of half-time for Shaw Lane.
Normal service seemed to have resumed for the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division champions straight after the interval as substitute Jimmy Eyles fired home at the back-post.
Even the dismissal of captain Rhys Meynell for dissent didn’t initially affect Aquaforce.
However, Lincoln replacement Kallum Smith caused problems down the left-wing and crossed for McGovern to equalise and seemingly secure his side a point.
Lincoln were on top now and really went all out for the winner and McGovern completed his hat-trick by heading home Jordan Lemon’s cross.
