Popular player Sam Dobbs will be signing for his old club Nostell Miners Welfare this week.
The goalkeeper will replace Ben Saynor, who broke his hand in the win at Bridlington, between the sticks.
He won’t be available for the visit of Pickering Town on Tuesday night as he is still registered with the North Yorkshire based side after training with them in pre-season.
The earliest he can make his return debut is on Saturday at Congleton Town in the FA Vase.
Dobbs was Nostell’s number one stopper in the late ‘noughties’ when Alan Colquhoun was in charge. His finest moment was in the two-legged NCEL President’s Cup final victory over Scarborough.
His comeback to Crofton also marks a reunion with Paul Lines and chairman Simon Turfrey, who he played under at Wakefield FC.
Former Ossett Albion stopper Scott Bennett will play for Nostell against Pickering.
