Captain Lee Garside scored twice as unbeaten Stocksbridge Park Steels drew 2-2 at Kidsgrove Athletic.

The Steels are now joint top in the Evo Stik Division One South ahead of tough games against Leek Town and Shaw Lane Aquaforce coming up in the next seven days.

Garside gave Stocksbridge an early lead with a close range finish before debutant Nick Wellecomme ensured the sides were level at the interval.

Former Worsbrough and Pontefract striker Garside then placed Stocksbridge in front again – striking home an effort from the edge of the penalty area.

Stocksbridge were on course for a fifth straight league victory until a blunder from goalkeeper David Reay allowed Wellecomme to score his second.
