Bradford (Park Avenue) finally picked up their first victory of the Vanarama National League North season in the must-win clash with AFC Telford.
Chib Chilaka was the hero with the only goal of the game on the hour mark which lifted Avenue off the foot of the table.
In a tense match, Avenue were on top during the first half before Telford, led by new boss Rob Smith, caused problems straight after the interval.
Eventually Avenue forced their way to the win with an ‘accidental goal’. Danny Schofield hit the by-line and pulled back for Chilaka, who turned and as he fell down, miscued the ball across the goal and saw it find the bottom corner.
Avenue were unable to double their lead so they had to ride out pressure from Telford.
Avenue held on and the tension surrounding their inability to get their first win has now gone.
