Tony Hackworth has returned to Pickering Town as a player.
The former Leeds United striker has been out of the semi-pro game since stepping down as player/manager in May because of family commitments.
Paul Marshall, who has been a long admirer of him, has persuaded him to return in a playing capacity alongside his old Scarborough Athletic team-mate Denny Ingram.
Hackworth could make his comeback for Pickering this afternoon when Marshall’s men travel to Athersley Rec hoping to claim their first Toolstation NCEL Premier Division win of the season.
