Lewis Nightingale has turned down Scarborough Athletic to remain with Farsley Celtic.

After a number of top displays in Farsley’s difficult start to the Evo Stik Division One North season, Nightingale was subject of an approach from their league rivals.

Farsley assistant manager Mark Jackson said: “Lewis agreeing to stay is a massive positive for the club.

“He believes in the way the club is moving forward and was more than happy to commit to us.

“It could have been easy for him to move to a club who have had a good start and find themselves up there in the league, and for more money.

“Lewis sees the direction we are heading and it is great news for us.”
