Lee Morris scored at least twice for Shaw Lane Aquaforce

Shaw Lane Aquaforce easily navigated their path to the Doodson Sport Cup first round with a straightforward 4-1 win over Sheffield FC.

Aquaforce had booked a trip to Farsley Celtic by half-time after taking a 3-0 lead.

Lee Morris claims he got three of them, but the records say he only got two. The experienced striker pounced to turn Adam Priestley’s cross home in the 11th minute. Although the records say that it was Alfred Hammond own goal.

In-form Matt Thornhill doubled their lead with a simple tap-in.

Former Shaw Lane goalkeeper Jamie Green then threw one in by failing to deal with a cross which allowed Lee Morris to head into the empty net.

Green gave his former club a further laugh by mis-kicking a clearance that flew to Morris, who again had an empty net to aim at.

In the closing stages, Mohammed Sabo added to the bizarre goals list by managing to score an own goal from 30 yards.

Shaw Lane Aquaforce: Deakin, Wafula, Thornton, Sabo, Meynell, Thornhill, Istead, Bennett, Priestley, Davidson, Morris. Subs: Darley, O’Brien, Holt, Eyles, Foster.
