Too early to judge league – Miller

Winning is more important than being top for Billy Miller and Tadcaster Albion at this moment.

Tadcaster are top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division table after ten games, but the priority is victory in the visit of Rainworth today.

Miller said: “I think the league is certainly starting to take shape.

“I think it is a bit too early to judge for us. We’re just taking it a game at a time.

“What is important is that we keep picking the points. We just look at Saturday’s game and move on from there.”

Miller does have a decision to make about over who will partner Matt Heath at centre-half.

Andy Milne limped off at Liversedge last week and did not feature in the 2-0 win over Pontefract Collieries on Tuesday night.

Left-back Paddy Miller, who was Farsley’s main centre-back during the 2013-14 season, took his place.

Miller refused to commit on whether his namesake would fill Milne’s slot again today, but did say: “I spoke to Milney on Tuesday and it was something (Miller switching to centre-back) we did on Saturday when he went off injured at Liversedge.

“It was a precaution against Pontefract because we have already lost Liam Ormsby, Nick Thompson to long term injuries.

“The thing was to protect what we have got. We know Paddy is more than capable to do that job.

“He has that in his locker.”
