Darren Hepworth wants to see the same AFC Emley turn out for each Toolstation NCEL Division One game.
After winning comfortably at Teversal, Emley were beaten 4-3 at Westella VIP in an under-par performance which disappointed Hepworth.
His side bounced back with the 5-0 thrashing of Worsbrough Bridge on Wednesday night.
He said: “It was important to respond.
“On Saturday in the first half we were bullied and that’s the honest truth.
“I really emphasised on Wednesday night that we really had to be ‘at it’ from the word go and that’s exactly what we were.
“We were solid, competitive, we pressed well and in the end it should have been double figures.
“Although we were solid, we created so many chances and we were so wasteful.
“The pleasing thing is that we are creating chances and we are a team that will do that.
“I’m pleased overall. I would like to see us be more consistent.
“We won 5-0 at Teversal and then turned up at Westella with a poor performance.
“What we have to do is make sure we go into Saturday and Tuesday and get some consistency in our performances.”
Key striker Ash Flynn has continued his rich vein of form and is now up to 20 goals for the season.
He has also rejected the advances of a number of clubs – including Worksop Town.
In an article in the Worksop Guardian, the Tigers claimed that they put a seven days’ notice claim, but decided not to speak to Flynn.
The article outlined the reasons why, which angered Hepworth.
“I wasn’t happy with the story,” he added.
“It was a non-story and the reason why I wasn’t happy was because the paper chose to drag up all the stuff that Ash has put behind him. They didn’t need to mention certain details.
“I have no problems with clubs coming in and making offers to players because it shows we are doing something right.
“I don’t think the article should have been printed.
“I don’t talk about other players to the press. I prefer to do my business privately and then let the press know.”
Hepworth added: “We have probably had six or seven clubs looking at him and putting notice on him.
“He’s enjoying his football, he’s scoring goals and the players and fans love him.
“He feels at home here and the last time he scored 42 goals was when he was at Emley.
“There’s a reason why people score goals like that and it is usually where they’re enjoying it.”
Emley host Winterton Rangers tomorrow.
