A patched-up Pontefract Collieries side memorably won 2-1 at Pickering Town to end the home side’s four match unbeaten run.

The victory continued Pontefract’s revival in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division under now solo manager Nick Handley.

It was also a remarkable win considering the changes that he had to make. Target man Craig Rouse was forced to play at centre-back, while winger Mark Whitehouse was placed at left-back.

The Collieries to let the goal bother them and Liam Radford equalised with a deflected strike.

The winner came after the hour make after Collieries goalkeeper Ellis Halpine made two excellent saves.

The ball found its way to that man Aaron Moxam and his initial strike was saved. However, he was there to collect the rebound which he buried.
