Paul Marshall is set for his first return to Tadcaster Albion in a professional capacity when he takes Pickering Town there on Friday night.

Marshall’s glorious seven-year spell in charge of the Brewers came to an end in May.

The former Harrogate Railway boss, who also had two stints as chairman, transformed Tadcaster by taking them from the bottom of the Toolstation NCEL Division One to the top of the Premier Division.

He also won the President’s Cup and took them to the FA Vase quarter-finals for the first time in the club’s history.

Marshall, who is also celebrating his birthday, expects there to a crowd of over 500 for what promises to be an emotional occasion.

Three ex-Taddy players are ruled out as Denny Ingram and Tony Hackworth are suspended because of their red cards in the 2-2 draw with Retford United.

Calum Ward is not expected to be back after recently puncturing a lung.

Tadcaster, now managed by Billy Miller, are looking to return to winning ways after the defeat at Barton Town Old Boys.
