Hemsworth captain Jason Yates headed home Shane Kelsey’s superb free kick in his side’s FA Vase win at Bacup

Jason Yates’ late header sealed Hemsworth Miners Welfare’s progression in the FA Vase in the solitary goal win at Bacup Borough.

Shane Kelsey won the plaudits for the goal because of his superb delivery of the free kick that enabled Hemsworth’s captain to head home on the goal-line.

Hallam also celebrated a memorable victory after appearing to be heading for the exit doors after an hour.

Hallam were losing 3-0 to Harworth CI until Michael Blythen scored a nine minute hat-trick alongside a Max Pemberton strike.

Armthorpe only needed three minutes turn over Ashton Town. Having been 2-0 down with 22 minutes left, Joe Lumsden, Tom McLaughlin and then Stuart Preston secured Armthorpe’s win.

Handsworth Parramore also turned a losing deficit around. Handsworth were 2-0 down to Cheadle Town before second half goals from Kieran Wells (2) and Stephen Warne earned them victory.

Athersley Rec won the big Barnsley derby at Penistone Church. Ryan Blackburn and Danny Joynes earned them a 2-0 win.

Maltby Main eased to a 2-0 victory over Toolstation NCEL Division One promotion candidates Bottesford Town – Dean Conway and Ben Thornton scored.

Hall Road Rangers lost at Darlington RA, Yorkshire Amateur were defeated 3-1 at Hebburn, Northwich Manchester Villa saw off Rossington Main and Bridlington Town were beaten 3-2 at Sunderland RCA in the FA Vase.
