The West Riding County FA have apologised for their part in the postponed County Cup clash between Liversedge and Pontefract Collieries.
The County FA have blamed a breakdown in communication for the debacle which led to no match officials arriving for the first round tie.
The match was moved from a midweek date to Saturday and the County FA have said that because of the change, the original match officials withdrew from the fixture.
A new set were not appointed.
Andrew Wadsworth, acting CEO of West Riding County FA said: “As a County FA, we accept that a great deal of responsibility for this incident rests with us and apologise to all involved.
“This is our premier cup competition, with a prestige final at Bradford City’s Coral Windows Stadium.
“We take the competition incredibly seriously and are disappointed with the accumulation of events that resulted in this situation at the weekend.
“We will learn from this experience and procedures will be put in place to ensure that such an incident doesn’t recur.”
The County FA have confirmed that they will looking to find a new date for the tie.
