Calum Ward could be back in the Pickering Town squad this weekend.

Ward has been out of the side since the start of September after puncturing a lung.

He has been in light training for the past ten days and Paul Marshall confirmed that he is in contention to play in their home game with Armthorpe Welfare tomorrow.

Marshall said: “They said it would be six weeks, but everything has been perfect.

“He’s had his stitches out and everything.

“He’s keen to be back, he wanted to play against Tadcaster last week.

“It will be good to have him back because he causes havoc and scores goals.”

The eight day break that will finish tomorrow has been a good rest period for Pickering.

Pickering had played a lot of Toolstation NCEL Premier Division matches in a short period of time before then.

That showed when Marshall took a patched-up team to his old club Tadcaster last week.

With players coming back, Marshall hopes his team can rise from their lowly 16th position.

He added: “We should have more points than what we have got.

“We have dropped seven points where we deserved to win against Retford, Ponte and Thackley.

“We’ve not been clinical enough in front of goal.”
