Shane Kelsey propelled Hemsworth Miners Welfare to second in the Toolstation NCEL Division One table after the winner in the 2-1 victory at Hallam.
The win took Hemsworth above fellow promotion rivals Hallam, who dropped to sixth.
The match was watched by 325 people – the highest in the NCEL on Non League Day.
Bill Law gave Hemsworth an early lead following a scramble that saw Jack Dennison deny Kelsey and Nash Connolly.
Hallam responded with a sensational goal from Micah Bishop, who struck a 30-yard volley past Hemsworth goalkeeper Chris Snaith with a bit of help off the crossbar.
Hemsworth grabbed all three points on the hour mark with Kelsey scoring with a trickling effort.
The former Shaw Lane Aquaforce striker almost sealed the points with a spectacular strike that flew just over the crossbar.
