Shaw Lane Aquaforce star striker Gavin Allott has won praise from his manager Craig Elliott.
Allott, who was signed from Frickley Athletic in the summer, has been in red-hot form for Aquaforce.
He was a key player in Aquaforce’s victory over previously unbeaten leaders Stafford Rangers last week.
Elliott said: “I’m bias, but personally I think he is the best centre-forward around.
“We’re lucky to have him.
“He’s a handful and he never loses the ball.
“You look at him and think he’s just good in the air, but he isn’t. He’s a great lad and a terrific outlet.
“I think he was five years younger he would be playing League football.
“You don’t often see players with pace, power and finishing ability like he has.”
Shaw Lane are now up to second in the Evo Stik Division One South – eight points behind Stafford.
After an inconsistent start, Aquaforce appear to be finding their feet, but Elliott agrees that his side have to back up the tremendous Stafford win with victory at Market Drayton Town tomorrow.
“We need to back the win up,” he added.
“It is what you’re looking for as manager, you want to back up good performances.
“Tomorrow is about getting a positive result on what we got last week.
“However, the Stafford win was our fourth clean sheet in a row and I think we have only lost one game in ten.
“They’re good stats to have and it shows we are on the right lines.”
