Red hot Garforth Town striker Mark Simpson won Non League Yorkshire’s charity poker tournament on Friday night which raised over £600 for Disability Sport Yorkshire.

The in-form striker won the battle of wits with Eccleshill United player Andy Sunley at the end to win the 32-inch television, kindly donated by Pete’s Patisserie.

Sunley walked out with the electric shower which was donated by Aquaforce Plumbing Solutions.

Representatives from Garforth Town, Ossett Albion, Yorkshire Amateur, Tadcaster Albion, Pontefract Collieries and Eccleshill United supported the event held at Grosvenor Casino Leeds Westgate.

Notable moments included photographer Arthur Haigh winning the toilet roll for being the first person to be knocked out.

Big Castleford Tigers fan and Pontefract secretary Trevor Waddington had a smile on his face after winning the Leeds Rhinos ball, signed by the victorious treble-winning team.

Thanks go to everyone who attended and to all our generous sponsors, who donated prizes.

Along with Pete’s Patisserie and Aquaforce Plumbing Solutions, thanks also go to LC Vehicle Hire, Retail Computer Solutions, Chef Up North and Garforth Catering.

Grosvenor Casino and Charlotte Scoular also deserve thanks for being fantastic hosts.

It is hoped that another Non League Yorkshire charity event will take place next year.
